Methods to Fix the Problem

  • Restart Your Device

It is an old method but an efficient one. This method solves many problems. Anytime your PC gets stuck while doing anything the first thing you do is restart your computer.

Many computers due to their older version take a longer period to install an update. So, try to confirm whether it is stuck or not.

  • Try using safe mode

Sometimes when a program is not closed properly before installing an update it may cause problems while updating the system. So to avoid this, start your windows using safe mode. It will not cause any unnecessary problems with the update.

  • Use Troubleshooter
  1. If the above-mentioned methods do not work, then use a troubleshooter. To run a troubleshooter, click on Start > settings> Updates and security. 
  2. Then click on Troubleshoot, after this, you will see a Venmo screen where it will be written Windows update > run the troubleshooter. 
  3. Now, again restart your PC once the troubleshooting process is completed. 
  4. After restarting your PC try to install the new update again.
  • Restore System

With the help of system restore you can delete all the previous data of failed system updates.

  • Delete Temporary Files

It can also be the reason of your failed system update. The presence of a lot of temporary files can affect the working of the computer. So it is better to delete all the temporary files. 

  • BIOS Update 

The full form of BIOS is Basic Input Output System. It is one of the most useful elements of the system to make it work smoothly. To update BIOS, you can directly visit the manufacturer’s site and download the update and then restart your PC.

Usually, the period required for system update is 15-20 minutes and the maximum time is 30 minutes. But do not restart your device in the middle of an update, it may harm the device and might delete all the files.
